It was a dull and cloudy day, threatening rain. However, there
was still a fairly good turnout of members. There was
30 people, in 1 vintage car and 17 modern vehicles. |
Paul and Rod planned this route -- a short drive, stop for a garage tour, and other short drive to the coffee stop.
We left the parking lot, along West Burnside Rd., to Prospect Lake Road and to Munn Road.

Our
first stop was at the large garage set-up of Dennis and Claire
Atkinson. The property includes about 9 separate garages, plus
shelters, as well as a lovely home and gardens.
Dennis proudly showed folks around the premises and identified the
vehicles on hand. Claire generously provided members with hot
coffee and Timbits.

After everyone had their fill of the garages, we continued our drive
along the scenic Prospect Lake Road, back to West Burnside Road.
We carried on into View Royal, via Island Highway, heading to Langford
-- along Six Mile Rd., Atkins Rd., Selwyn Rd., Strandlund Rd. and Peatt
Rd.

Across Veterans Memorial Parkway, to Brock Ave., Jacklin Rd.,
Goldstream Ave., Leigh Rd. over Highway 1. McCallum Rd. took us
to Florence Lake Rd., Setchfield Rd., Treanor Rd, across Millstream Rd.
and to The Rack Bistro (formerly the Chequered Flag). Fourteen
people stopped off there to enjoy fellowship and refreshments.
