The
November Sunday Run took place on a pretty typical Fall day. The
weather forecast was bordering on wicked, but the day broke with
sunshine and scattered clouds. We made it through the run without
moisture, but shortly after arriving home, the rains came.
There was a respectable turnout of 38 people, representing 25
memberships, and driving 12 vintage cars.

Bill's
route was a long one, about 22 miles and took about 65 minutes.
It wended its way from the Forestry Centre, along Burnside, Tillicum,
Carey, Glanford to West Saanich. Then via Elk Lake Drive,
Haliburton, Del Monte and zigzagged across Cordova Bay Ridge. It
returned to the west side of the Pat Bay Highway, and followed
Brookleigh, Oldfield, Keating X, Benvenuto and Wallace. Carrying
on through Brentwood Bay and out the Peninsula, finally ending up on
McDonald Park Road in Sidney.

Our
destination was the new offices of BC HAZMAT, owned and managed by club
members, Dave and Becky Rogers. It was a great opportunity for
our members to accept the hospitality, including facility tours and
fantastic refreshments, hosted by the Rogers.
Dave and Becky were particularly proud to showcase their new premises,
in light of the fact that they had recently been awarded the "Employer
of the Year" honour by the Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.
