The weather co-operated as it stopped raining in the morning, and was just a little overcast.
The recent windstorm had blown most of the leaves off the trees -- adding beautiful colours to our meeting place.
Club
members were enthusiastic and optimistic, with 12 vintage cars, 11
modern cars and 42 members present, which is definitely a good turnout
for a November Run.

Bill & Harvey's 25-mile route followed West Burnside, Interurban,
Burnside, Finlayson, North Dairy, to Shelbourne. Then we branched
off along Lansdowne and through the Uplands, down to Beach Drive.
We drove through Cadboro Bay Village and on through Gordon Head and Mt.
Douglas Park to Cordova Bay. From there the tour headed across
the highway to Hamsterley, Brookleigh, Oldfield, Keating Cross Road and
West Saanich Road. The drive ended up at Harvey and Sue Sherman's
home, where the Victoria Chapter's surplus Library materials were on
display and available for members to take.

Our
hosts provided participants with a delightful treat of hot coffee or
hot cider, and delicious donuts. Chairs and benches were
available in the sheltered garage for those who wanted to sit and
chat. The vast array of books and countless other publications
were well-organized and displayed on large tables in another
garage. It appeared that everyone found something of interest,
and many folks were seen filing boxes and bags with Winter reading
material.

The materials that were not taken will be stored and will be made available again at the 2012 Swap Meet on June 24, 2012.
Thanks to AL KENT, and his able assistant, BARB,
for 25 years of looking after the Club's Library. The library
continued to grow every year and without the dedication and generosity
of Al and Barb, club members would not have had access to such an
extensive resource.

Also, thanks to BILL and SUE & HARVEY for a very enjoyable Sunday outing.
