Greetings from the Victoria Chapter .....
What a great way to start a new year!
and a special new year it is too ....

The Victoria Chapter is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2010 and to kick off its 50th year, a special New Year's Day Run was planned.  It started at the usual place (Pacific Forestry Centre on West Burnside Road), where members were presented with their own copy of the 50th Anniversary Calendar; created and assembled by Bill Bouchard, Paul and Liz Taylor.50th Anniversary cake
Run organizer Brent Morrison added several new twists to the traditional "round the waterfront" drive, leading everyone from the meeting place to the Reception Centre at McCall Bros. Funeral Home for refreshments. Two special anniversary cakes were served, in addition to donuts and coffee and tea.  The Up-Island chapters had been invited to join the party and several members of the Cowichan Chapter made the journey to Victoria. 33 local members and their families participated.  18 vintage cars were brought out for this event.Olds on the apron

Thanks to Brent Morrison for looking after the donuts and for organizing the run and providing some very interesting historical facts about Victoria fifty years ago. Thanks to Joan Huddleston for arranging for the wonderful anniversary cakes, and to Paul Taylor and McCall Bros. for the use of the facility.
