The
Victoria Chapter kicked off 2015 with our Annual New Year's Day
Run. It started at the
usual place (Pacific Forestry Centre on West Burnside Road). The weather was just about perfect .... sunny and cool.
There was a good representation of vintage
cars from both our Victoria Chapter and some guests from the Torque Masters Car Club and others: 37
vintage cars and 9 modern cars; --
totalling approximately 75 people.

Run organizer, Brent Morrison, took a different approach to the
traditional "round the
waterfront" drive and headed off into Saanich and the Blenkinsop/Cedar
Hill area. Then on by UVic to Cadboro Bay Road and then following
Beach Drive through to James Bay. Then a quick jaunt through
downtown, to McCall Bros. Funeral Home.

The route sheet included some interesting facts:
100 years ago, 1915 -- Ford produces one millionth vehicle
75 years ago, 1940 -- the first Jeep was produced
50 years ago, 1965 -- Ralph Nader publishes "Unsafe at any Speed"
25 years ago, 1990 -- America passes the "Clean Air Act" which revives interest in electric cars
10 years agho, 2005 -- world passenger car production was 46,862,978
