The
Victoria Chapter kicked off 2014 with our Annual New Year's Day
Run. It started at the
usual place (Pacific Forestry Centre on West Burnside Road), under
somewhat dull and cloudy skies, and then the rain started but it did not dampen the spirits of the run participants.
Despite the weather, there were a great representation of vintage cars: 34
vintage cars and 10 modern cars; 31 members and their families; and 13 non-members --
totalling approximately 90 people.

Run organizer, Brent Morrison, took the traditional "round the
waterfront" drive and livened it up with 19 interesting quiz
questions!! It was not a real contest and there were no prizes,
but it gave people something to think about and focus on during the
drive.

The route headed over to Esquimalt and then through Vic West; along Bay
Street and then all the way down Douglas Street to Belleville
Street. We then zigzagged our way through James Bay and along
Dallas Road -- passing Clover Point and carrying along up and over
Gonzales Hill. Beach Drive took us around Foul Bay, through the
Uplands Gates and past Cattle Point. We then passed through the
Uplands and travelled on Foul Bay Road, Cadboro Bay Road and Fort
Street -- heading to our destination: McCall Bros. Funeral Home.

Thanks
to Brent
& Martha Morrison for organizing the run and the donuts. Also,
thanks to all
those who helped with the serving and clean-up; especially Richard

McCall
Bros. for
the use of the facility.
And finally, a GREAT
BIG

those members who contributed to the Mustard Seed Food Bank ~ $180.00
was raised and 1
1/2 boxes of food was collected.
