We
were treated to another wonderful day for a Sunday Run .... weather was
warm and sunny -- just about perfect for top-down touring!!
Even the fact that this run was not on our regular run day and that it
was Mother's Day, there was still a pretty good turn-out
-- 13 vintage cars, 9 modern and 31 people. |
Heinz's run took us mainly through Esquimalt. We followed W.
Burnside, Tillicum, Gorge, Admirals to Craigflower. Then back on
Tillicum to Lampson. Up and over Rockheights to Old Esquimalt
Road, Grenville and Esquimalt Road. A quick foray down towards
CFB Esquimalt, then back through the Saxe Point and Macaulay Point
areas. Some folks took different routes, but we all ended up back
on Esquimalt Road, heading towards the Johnson St. Bridge.

|
Over the bridge, up to Government Street, right on Princess Street to Styles Auto
Upholstery.
We were expected and received a warm welcome from Paul, Lars and
Kevin. Coffee and donuts were provided, and a tour of the
facility. We saw several cars under active repair/restoration, as
well as the working areas, with the sewing machines and bolts and bolts
of upholstery and other textiles.
|
After everyone had their questions answered and felt that they had seen
enough, about a dozen folks stopped at Paul's Restaurant for more
snacks and/or an early dinner.

Thank
you to Paul, Lars and Kevin of Styles,
and to Heinz
Mueller, for putting on another informative and enjoyable Sunday
Run.
