It was a dull day, but the rain held off. However, some folks decided to keep their vintage cars at home, safe and dry.
Due to the conflict of our regular run day with this year's May Tour in Qualicum, this Sunday Run had been moved a week later.
There was a moderately good turn-out: 23 members and their
families/guests (totalling 37 people) and 15 vintage cars. It is possible that the change of date may have contributed to a slightly lower attendance.
A warm Victoria welcome to Bonner and Doreen -- long-time Victoria
Chapter members who moved to the Interior and were back for a visit.

One of the highlights was the appearance of some musical theatre
students from Colquitz Middle School and their teacher. They are
putting on a production of "Bugsy Malone Jr." later in May -- a play that
takes place in prohibition-era New York. They had hoped to have some
promotional photos taken with the students in their costumes and some
of our older cars.
Some great photos were taken and arrangements were made to take
additional pictures with some more "age-appropriate" cars. Thanks
to Gordie and Harvey for assisting in this community project.
And, thanks to Caroline Mackenzie for sharing her photos with us --
both on Facebook and here on the website.

Heinz's run took us from the Pacific Forestry Centre onto West
Burnside, Tillicum, Gorge to Admirals. Then we meandered through
the "wilds" of Esquimalt: Craigflower, Tillisum, Lampson,
Rockheights, Old Esquimalt, Grenville, Canteen, Lyall, Bewdley, Peters
and Head. Our destination was the Princess Mary Restaurant.
Their banquet room was waiting for us -- for our group to enjoy refreshments privately.

Thanks to Heinz for an interesting drive -- some folks had not been to
certain areas of Esquimalt before -- new streets are always a good
thing!!
Also, thanks to Caroline Mackenzie and her drama students for
brightening our meeting place. We wish them much success with
their production of "Bugsy Malone Jr.". |
