Why
did the weatherman have to be right today? The predicted rain
started the night before and continued all day. However, it had
dwindled to shower status by the afternoon and a goodly number of folks
were brave enough to venture out -- albeit mostly in modern vehicles!
There
was a modest turn-out, 10 members and their spouses/families, and
only 1 vintage car (John King and his 1977 GMC pick-up truck). |
Off
we headed to Ragley Farm taking the tour route laid out by Gordie and
Jane Thomas (West Burnside, Old Island Highway, Ocean Boulevard, Metchosin, Happy Valley, Rocky Point, to East Sooke).

When we arrived,
we were greeted by Rob & Josie Hill, as well as members of the
Studebaker Club, Packard Club as well as some members of the VCCC
Cowichan Chapter.
Josie had been busy baking in her "barn kitchen" -- warm scones,
strawberry/rhubarb sauce, whipped cream and other goodies were
available. What a wonderful treat!
|
Folks were invited to enjoy their refreshments in the cozy lounge,
which offered a comfortable, warm and dry place to sit and socialize.
Various plants and other baked goods were available for purchase.
Some folks wandered around the farm, in the drizzle, enjoying the pastoral scenery and atmosphere.

Thank
you once again, Rob and Josie for your generous hospitality and for opening our farm for us to enjoy.
And thank
you, Gordie and Jane, for the scenic country drive.
