It was a great day for a Sunday drive.
There
were 14 cars, of which 9 were vintage, along with 25 people. Sixteen people sat down for
refreshments at Smugglers' Cove Pub in Cadboro Bay.

Jim McNeill's route took us around the Victoria waterfront -- a popular driving route that never seems to get old.
We left via Burnside, to Tillicum Road, across the Gorge to
Craigflower. Along Cragflower to Skinner St., Catherine St. and
across Esquimalt Road. Making a swing through the Songhees (Kimta
Rd., Songhees Rd., Tyee Rd.) and back to Esquimalt Rd. Across the
Johnson St. Bridge to Wharf St., and to Government Street.

Then
we travelled around James Bay (Belleville St., Pendray St., Quebec St.,
Montreal St., Kingston St., St. Lawrence St., Erie St.) Dallas
Road took us past Odgen Point and Clover Point, to Hollywood
Cres. Then the loop along Robertson St., Ross St., Crescent Rd.,
King George Terrace to Beach Drive.
We stopped briefly in the parking lot of the Oak Bay Marina, to
regroup. We carried along Beach Drive, detouring around Cattle
Point. Beach Drive becomes Cadboro Bay Road, then Telegraph Bay
Road.
|
A
quick tour around Ten Point Mile (Seaview Rd., Tudor Rd. and Seaview
Rd.) back to Telegraph Bay Rd. Back to Cadboro Bay Road to
Penrhyn St. and our destination: Smugglers' Cove Pub.
