Our March Sunday Run was very well-planned, but unfortunately no one had control over the weather.
Sunday was a very rainy, wet day .... but there was a good turn-out of members and their families.
There was a total of 17 cars (4 vintage and 13 modern) and 31 people in attendance.
|
Bill Bouchard had planned this run in three parts: the first part
being a drive of about 50 minutes. The route took us along
Marigold -- passing several "flower" streets; then a zigzag tour
through South Saanich -- including Tillicum, Harriet, Boleskine,
Saanich Road and Tattersal.
We then circled through the Maplewood area, onto Blenkinsop, Mt. Douglas X Road and Cedar Hill Road to Mount Doug Park.
|

|

|
We then travelled through Cordova Bay, passing Cordova Bay Golf Course and along Fowler to Sayward.
We crossed the Pat Bay Highway, onto Hamsterley, Brookleigh, Oldfield and then Keating X Cross.
Our destination was STEVE & SHARON BUTLER's home -- for a Garage Tour and refreshments.
|
|
They were well prepared for our arrival, with lots of parking.
The
Butlers welcomed us to their property and proceeded to show us around
the many garages and workshops. Everywhere we turned there was
something more to see.
Sharon,
with help from Anna Meyer, served coffee, tea and special St. Patrick's
Day cookies and treats, to those who wished to get warmed up and dried
off.

This
was a very interesting visit, as Steve showed us six cars completely
restored, as well as some in various stages of restoration.
There was also other interesting equipment to view.
|
|
After everyone had their fill of cars, coffee, treats and
fellowship -- 12 people headed over to the Bleue Coyote Pub for an
early dinner.

|
Thanks
to Bill Bouchard for organizing this special Sunday Run.
And .... thanks to STEVE & SHARON BUTLER
for their warm hospitality.
