It was another fine Sunday for our July Sunday Run. There were 16 cars, of which 12 were vintage. Of those 12 vintage cars, 6 were convertibles with their tops down. 30 people people participated and 20 stopped off for coffee at the end of the run.
Paul's route was approximately 29 miles and 75 minutes. We left from the Pacific Forestry Centre, out along West Burnside Road to the Island Highway. Then onto Wale Road, Goldstream Avenue, Leigh Road to McCallum Road. We followed Florence Lake Road, Setchfield Avenue up into the Eagle Ridge community. Along Goldeneye Way to Bear Mountain Parkway. Up and over Bear Mountain, taking in all the new home construction and spectacular views of Olympic Mountains and Juan de Fuca Strait.
Back to Leigh Road and through Langford (Dunford Avenue and Jacklin Road). Then up the side of Triangle Mountain (Walfred Road). Down to the bottom, Happy Valley Road, Glen Forest Way, Sundance Drive, Pears Road to Metchosin Road. Then a turn along Duke Road West, Cliff Drive, Olympic View Drive, Duke Road, Chapel Heights Drive, back to Metchosin Road. A quick drive along Sooke Road to our coffee stop .... Royal Roads Cafe.
