The
20th Annual Ice Cream Run took place on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019.
23 vintage cars
and 7 modern cars, totalling 55 people, met at the
Pacific Forestry Centre at 7:00 p.m.
It was a nice night for a drive and ice cream. |
The
Taylors' route, which was just over 9 miles long and 25 minutes, took
folks along West Burnside, McKenzie, Douglas and Lily Avenue to Quadra
Street. Then through Broadmead (Chatterton Way, Emily Carr Drive,
Royal Oak Drive to Lochside Drive. Then up and over Cordova Bay
Ridge (Sea Ridge Drive, Haliburton Road) and across the Pay Bay Highway
onto Elk Lake Drive. Through a short side track along Normandy
Drive and Pipeline Road, and onto Royal Oak Drive again.
Following West Saanich Road, led us to Beaver Road and the home of Harvey and Sue Sherman, our hosts for the evening.

Our hosts had lots of
parking in the field, and tables were set up where Jane and Gordie Thomas
had organized the ice cream, along with cake, and of course, many
delicious toppings and sprinkles!! And Sue had arranged for
coffee, for those wanting a warm drink!!
Folks brought out their chairs and sweaters, just in case!
Everyone was seen to be having a good time. |

Special guests attending this year's event
were VCCC National Past-President,
Del Holbrook, and his wife, Angela, who
is the VCCC National Webmaster.
Del brought greetings from National
and presented the VCCC 50-year
Membership plaque to Bob Rivers
(who was unable to attend, and
Jane Thomas accepted it on his behalf).
