The
17th Annual Ice Cream Run took place on Tuesday, July 5th, 2016.
20 vintage cars and 5 modern cars, totalling 41 people, met at the
Pacific Forestry Centre at 7:00 p.m.
The weather had been unsettled during the day, and before we left at
7:30 p.m., it had started to rain -- chasing most of the participants
into their vehicles. |
Fortunately,
the rain stopped shortly and the
Taylors' route, which was approximately 16 miles and 45 minutes, took
folks out West Burnside, around Prospect Lake to West Saanich
Road. Heading out the peninsula on Wallace Drive, we were
afforded wonderful views of Saanich Inlet.
Returning to West Saanich Road again, the route veered onto Old West
Saanich Road and then back onto West Saanich Road, for the third
time!! Finally, onto Beaver Road and onto the property of Harvey and Sue Sherman.

Our hosts had lots of parking in the field, and a tent set up in case of precipitation.
Jane and Gordie Thomas
had organized the ice cream, along with cake, and of course, many
delicious toppings and sprinkles!! And Sue had arranged for
coffee, for those wanting a warm drink!!
Folks brought out their chairs and sweaters, because
whilst the evening was dry, it was cool!! However, most folks were seen to be having a good time
anyway.

A hearty thank-you to Harvey and Sue for hosting this much anticipated Annual event; and to Jane &
Gordie for preparing our feast.
Also, thanks to Paul and Liz
Taylor for organizing the car tour portion of this annual event.
