The
16th Annual Ice Cream Run took place on a lovely warm sunny Tuesday
evening.
This early-Summer event has become one of the highlights of the
Victoria Chapter -- obviously more popular than our regular General Meeting in a warm church hall!
Attendance was good: with 39 people
present, and 16 vintage cars participating in the tour.
|
The
Taylors' route took participants along Vancouver Street, Fairfield
Road, Foul Bay Road, Lansdowne Road and Richmond Road. Then a
quick climb, up and over Mt. Tolmie on Mayfair Drive.
The route headed to Gordon Head -- along Cedar Hill X Road, Gordon Head
Road, Ferndale Road, Grandview Road and Ash Road. We passed
through Mt. Doug Park -- along Shelbourne/Cordova Bay Road. Off to
Royal Oak and Royal Oak Drive.

Following Wilkinson Road to West Saanich Road and then Beaver Road took
us to our destination: Harvey & Sue Sherman's home.
A beautiful spread of ice cream and cake; along with coffee -- had been set out awaiting our arrival.
|
Folks gathered their chairs in a large circle and sat down to enjoy the treats and some good conversation.
The evening was warm and sunny and everyone was seen to be having a good time. |

A hearty thank-you to Harvey & Sue for offering their spacious yard and home to host this special
event.
Also thanks to Jane & Gordie for arranging for all the delicious ice cream, cake and extras for our evening feast!
And finally,
thanks once again to Paul and Liz
Taylor for organizing the car tour portion of this annual event.

|
We appreciate the efforts of the dedicated volunteers who worked so hard at
this year's annual Swap Meet -- because some of the proceeds from the
Swap Meet are used to provide the ice cream and treats for this fun
event.
