The
14th Annual Ice Cream Run took place on a sunny Tuesday
evening.
This has become one of the
Victoria Chapter's
favourite summer-time events -- as it is far preferable to a regular General Meeting in a warm church hall!
Attendance was good: 28 memberships represented, with 46 people present, and 20 vintage cars participated in the tour.

The
Taylors' route took participants up Johnson St., along Cook to Rockland
and through a shady, little street -- Oak Shade Lane. We followed
Richmond and wended our way into Oak Bay, taking in another windy
by-way -- Island Road. Beach Drive is always a treat and
spectacular views of the snow-capped Olympic Mountains and Mt. Baker,
from Cattle Point -- started our mouths watering as they resemble giant
ice cream cones!

Returning
to Beach Drive, the route continued through Uplands and down through
Cadboro Bay Village and onto Telegraph Road. Following along
Queenswood, Arbutus Rd. and finally to
Ferndale Rd.

Our
destination was the home of Jane & Gordie Thomas. They had
the ice cream ready, along with many delicious toppings and sprinkles!!
Folks had brought their chairs, and sweaters to ward off the cool
evening air!! Thankfully, it was not nearly as cold as it was in
2012!! Everyone was seen to be having a good time. |
.
Some folks REALLY enjoy ice cream!!

|
A hearty thank-you to Jane & Gordie Thomas for offering their garden and home to host this special event.
Thanks to the efforts of the dedicated volunteers who worked so hard at
this year's annual Swap Meet -- because some of the proceeds from the
Swap Meet are used to provide the ice cream and treats for this fun
event.
And finally,
thanks once again to Paul and Liz
Taylor for organizing the car tour portion of this annual event.
