This was the 12th Annual Ice Cream Run. It has always been one of the Victoria Chapter's
favourite summer-time events.
The
weatherman did his job well for tonight's event: warm and
sunny. Six members took advantage of this perfect evening and
drove with tops down.
This
year's event was not quite as well attended as in the past, but 19 members and their families/guests participated;
and 16 vintage cars made the run. |
The
Taylors' route was a modified route from August 2002 -- "Goin' Round in Circles".
The tour left from McCall's Funeral Home parking lot, headed up Fort
Street; around Pentrelew Place, Wilspencer Place and Moss Street; up
Bond Street, Windermere Place, Masters Road and back to Fairfield Road;
up Denison Road, down Sylvan Lane, Beach Drive, Mountjoy Avenue,
Runnymede and Foul Bay Road. The next circle was Crescent Road,
Quimper Street, Maquinna Street, Lorne Terrace, back to Crescent Road
(Harling Point).

The tour followed along to Robertson Street, Hollywood Crescent, Dallas Road; Douglas Street and then around CIRCLE DRIVE
in Beacon Hill Park. We then proceeded through downtown on
Government Street, Wharf Street, Johnson Street -- across the bridge
into Esquimalt. The drive then circled
around the Songhees area and over to Craigflower Road. Admirals
Road took us to our ice cream destination: Dairy Queen at
Glentana Road and Admirals Road.

Everyone stayed to socialize and enjoy the delicious ice cream treats available.
Thanks once again to Paul and Liz Taylor for organizing this annual event.
