Unfortunately, the weather gods were not on our side for the first Sunday Run of 2015.  The day see-sawed back and forth between brief sunny patches, cloudy periods and actual rain.

However, despite the inclement weather, 15 cars arrived at the Pacific Forestry Centre -- 5 vintage cars and 10 modern cars, for a total of 24 people.

Paul and Liz Taylor had created an interesting run called:  Winnie the Pooh Run -- to celebrate Winnie the Pooh Day, which is always acknowledged on January 18th.

They managed to find five streets that had a connection to Winnie the Pooh -- some more obscure than others!!

For example:  WISETON STREET -- because Winnie's pal, Owl, is wise!!  MILNE STREET -- because it was A.A. Milne who created Winnie the Pooh and wrote the stories!!  WINSTER STREET -- because it sounds a bit like Winnie!!

CHRISTOPHER PLACE -- reminds us of Christopher Robin; and KANGAROO ROAD -- was obviously named after Pooh's friends, Kanga and Roo.

In order to visit these five streets, in several different municipalities, the route was slightly longer than usual (32.6 miles) and took about 85 minutes.

To add to the adventure of the day, Tour Leaders Paul and Liz Taylor, in their 1968 Cutlass Convertible, had car trouble even before they left the parking lot of the Forestry Centre.

Liz caught a ride with Heinz Mueller and led the tour, while Paul called a tow truck and took the reluctant car home for repairs.

And to further challenge the tour, as the cars were approaching the bridge at the north end of the Esquimalt Lagoon, signs were posted indicating that the bridge was closed, due to low hanging wires, probably displaced by the wind and rain!!

Thanks to quick thinking on the part of Brent Morrison, most of the participants were directed to revise the route and pick up the planned tour a little further along.

Everyone ended up at the appointed coffee stop.  A private room had been reserved at the White Spot on Langford Parkway and folks stayed and enjoyed the hospitality.

As part of the Winnie the Pooh Run, a brief history was provided, as well as a short, ten question quiz -- for those who wanted to test their knowledge of Winnie the Pooh.

Thanks to Paul and Liz Taylor for another "Taylor-made" run.  Also, thanks to Heinz Mueller for picking up Liz and taking over the role of Tour Leader.  T
hanks to Brent Morrison for redirecting most of the particpants and saving them from having to turn around and retrace the route to avoid the bridge closure.
