It was a cold, windy, but dry, February day -- not a bad day for a Sunday Run, except for those in open cars!!
Folks didn't stand around for long chatting -- most headed back to their cars after signing in and receiving their run sheets.
Participation was more than we had thought would come: 19 cars, of
which 9 were vintage. 31 people attended -- 19 of those went into the
Gardens and 9 stopped off at Sassy's for refreshments.

Paul
and Richard's route was pretty direct -- out Burnside to Helmcken,
Wilkinson to Royal Oak Avenue. Along Cordova Bay Road, which
becomes Fowler Road. Right onto Hunt Road (through the lovely
valley), to Welch, Martindale and Lochside.
Left on Island View, across the Pat Bay Hwy. to East Saanich and Hovey Road.

There the tour split: those heading to the Gardens following Wallace Drive and Benvenuto Avenue, right into the Gardens.
These folks met in front of the Gift Shop for a group photo and then
proceeded to the Spring Prelude (in the Blue Poppy Restaurant
area). visited the Historical displays in the Butchart family home or
toured around the Gardens and rode on the Rose Carousel!
Coffee and hot chocolate was popular in the Coffee Shop afterwards!!

The others went the other way on Wallace Drive, to East Saanich,
Wallace Drive again, Aldous Terr., Amity Drive and Moxon Terr. Left
onto Emard Terr., then Leal Rd. onto Barrett Dr. and Dean Park Rd.
Following Forest Park Dr., East Saanich, Veyaness and Keating X Rd. to
Sassy's Restaurant, where arrangements had been made for our group.
