After
several rainy days, the weather decided to cooperate and we were
treated to a fairly nice day -- cool and sunny, with some cloudy
periods.
This contributed to a pretty good turnout of members with their vintage
cars. There were 14 vintage cars and 23 members represented, with
a total of 43 people in attendance.

Dave and Judy's route followed West Burnside Road, through to the Old
Island Highway and onto Sooke Road. After turning onto Happy
Valley Road, we quickly turned onto Marwood Avenue and entered the
Luxton Fairgrounds via the caretaker's entrance.
They guided us through several buildings which house a vast collection
of assorted farm machinery and equipment, in various stages of
restoration.

More of the larger pieces of equipment were to be
found outside. Everyone appeared to enjoy viewing
this huge collection -- it is not often that you get to
see so much machinery and equipment all in one place.

After
the tour, folks were invited to gather at the Royal Roads Cafe for
refreshments -- 27 people took advantage of this opportunity to eat and
socialize.
Thanks to Dave and Judy Wallace for an interesting run. Several
folks were overheard to say that despite their having lived in Victoria
all their lives, they had never been to the Luxton Fairgrounds before.
