Our
August Sunday Run, "Fun in the Sun", was an enjoyable scenic tour of
the Saanich Peninsula -- it was 27 miles long and took approximaely 75
minutes.
The morning weather (slightly cloudy and uncertain) may have put
few people off, but by the time the club met at 1:00 p.m., everything
was fine. Not bright sunchine, but warm and clear.
There was a respectable showing of members and vintage cars -- taking
into account it is summer, etc. -- 19 memberships represented, 33 people in attendance, and 15 vintage cars drove the tour.

Karen
& David Hilder planned the route: leaving the parking lot,
along Burnside, Marigold and Interurban. We meandered along West
Saanich and Wallace Drive, out to the Saanich Peninsula -- taking in
the beautiful views of Georgia Strait and the farms. After
zig-zagging back and forth, and climbing up through Dean Park Heights
and down again, we returned along Oldfield, old West Saanich and West
Saanich Roads to our destination: Sue & Harvey Sherman's home.

A
well-appointed table of goodies was waiting for us, along with coffee
and lemonade. Karen had baked some delicious goodies --
thoughtfully, gluten-free for those require such treats.
Folks were able to sit around on the grounds -- enjoying the
refreshments and fellowship. The garage doors were open and cars
on display for those wishing to have a closer look at Harvey &
Sue's collection!

It was wonderful to see
Heinz & Mary Mueller participating today.
They were congratulated by fellow club members on this, their 60th
Wedding Anniversary!!
