.....
"April showers" ..... and all that! The previous day had brought
Victorians an interesting selection of weather: sun, clouds, rain
storms, hail showers, and pretty much everything in between.
However, Sunday morning started out better, with only a few heavy
showers, in certain areas of town.
Some cars arrived at the meeting place all nice and dry and shiny; while others were still all beaded up with rain drops!! |
However, there was still a very good turnout of members with their
vintage cars. There were 15 vintage cars and 20 members
represented, with a total of 35 people in attendance.
Heinz had planned a 90-minute drive, taking us through many different
areas of Victoria. His route followed West Burnside Road,
Wilkinson, Royal Oak, Chatterton, Emily Carr, Valewood, Faithwood,
Thistlewood, Donwood and Cottontree -- taking us through some very
pretty parts of Broadmead.

We
carried on back to Emily Carr and Royal Oak, then back towards town on
Cedar Hill and Cook Streets. We skirted downtown, and proceeded
through Fairfield and down to Ross Bay. It was gorgeous along the
waterfront drive: Dallas, Hollywood Cresc., King George Terr.,
Beach Drive. We left the seaside and headed up Sinclair to
UVic. After a circuit of Ring Road, we took Cedar Hill X Road to
our coffee stop.
The coffee stop was at Brannigan's Restaurant and most of the tours
participants stayed to share some fellowship and refreshments.

Thanks to Heinz Mueller for organizing
a scenic driving tour. We covered a great deal of territory and
saw lots of different sides of Victoria: sheep in the fields,
beautiful gardens, seashore and ocean views, golfers, etc.
