After
a nice start to the day with a beautiful sunny morning, the afternoon
progressed with the ever-popular universal Victoria weather
forecast: "sunny, with cloudy periods, and a chance of a few
showers".
However, there was still a fairly good turnout of members with their vintage
cars. There were 17 vintage cars and 19 members represented, with
a total of 32 people in attendance.

John's route followed West Burnside Road, Prospect Lake Road, Munns
Road, Millstream Lake Road and Millstream Road. We then made a
nifty circle tour around Caleb Pike Road, and back along Millstream
Road and Millstream Lake Road. This very windy and in some parts,
single-lane road, took us through to Willis Point Road, Wallace Drive,
Hagen Road, Marchant Road and finally Verdier Avenue.
Along the way, we were treated to rain and wet roads; sunshine and dry
roads; fields with sheep and fields with horses; fabulous displays of
daffodils in many spots; and a profusion of skunk cabbage flaunting
their bright yellow blooms in ditches and marshy areas.

The coffee stop was at the Seahorse Cafe, next to the Brentwood
Bay Ferry dock. Due to an accident on the Malahat, the ferry traffic
was backed up for miles, and the restaurant was busy. But they were
expecting us and 28 people stayed and socialized over refreshments.

Thanks to John King for organizing a rather challenging run. It is doubtful that anyone fell asleep at the wheel today!!
