2011 Annual Awards & Christmas Banquet
| On Sunday, December 4, 2011, the Victoria Chapter held its Annual Awards & Christmas Banquet at the Cedar Hill Golf Course in Saanich. It had been decided to continue with an afternoon event, in an effort to accommodate those who don't like to drive their vintage cars at night. 58 members and their families and guests attended the 2011 luncheon. The golf course was nicely decorated with seasonal trimmings, and the buffet luncheon included hot turkey, stuffing and gravy, in addition to a variety of salads and other hot entrees. Fresh fruit, sweets and coffee completed the meal. |

After lunch, we were entertained by The Carter Family from Duncan. This was their third visit to our club and they did not disappoint -- singing both Christmas favourites and other songs well-known by most of the guests. Beautiful red poinsettias were given to each couple as they were leaving -- to help brighten their homes for the season. |

Thanks to Brent Morrison for capably handling the MC duties again this year. We always look forward to seeing what tricks he has planned for determining the order of tables to the buffett!! Special thanks to Bill Bouchard and Jamie and Sherrill Cox for all their time and effort in organizing this wonderful event. At the conclusion of the meal, it was time for the Awards presentations..... |
